Tunis has been designated as the Arab Digital Capital for the year 2026, pursuant to Resolution No. [822 – Regular Session 29] issued by the Council of Arab Ministers of Telecommunications and Information on 22 January 2026, during its session held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt. The Council officially announced “Tunis as the Arab Digital Capital for 2026.”
This designation comes in recognition of the significant efforts undertaken by the city of Tunis in advancing the telecommunications and information technology sector, fostering digital transformation, and promoting innovation-driven initiatives. It also reflects its commitment to strengthening digital infrastructure, empowering talent, and building a secure, inclusive, and sustainable digital ecosystem.
In this context, the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), in its capacity as the Arab coordinator of the Arab Digital Capital initiative, will support and facilitate the implementation of national and regional programs and initiatives to be organized on this occasion, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication Technologies and the relevant national stakeholders in Tunis.
