The Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) participated in the Huawei Cloud Summit – North Africa 2025, held in Cairo on 29 July 2025.

During the event, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of AICTO, delivered a keynote address highlighting the transformative power of Cloud Computing and Artificial Intelligence in accelerating digital progress and shaping the future of Arab societies.

He praised the Arab Republic of Egypt for hosting this high-level forum, commending its remarkable achievements in digital transformation and positioning its ICT sector as a leading model in the region.

He emphasized that Cloud Computing and AI are no longer optional, but essential pillars for achieving economic sovereignty, digital inclusion, and regional competitiveness. He referenced key regional initiatives reflecting this shift, such as the Arab Digital Agenda 2030, the Joint Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, the Arab AI Strategy, and the recently adopted Arab AI Ethics Charter. He also announced that AICTO is working with regional partners to establish an Arab Coalition for AI Governance.

He stressed the vital role of cloud platforms – such as those showcased by Huawei – in modernizing public services, enabling smart cities, and ensuring institutional sustainability. Meanwhile, AI is enhancing governance, education, and social protection by shifting systems from reactive to predictive, opening new horizons for real transformation.

In conclusion, the Director General reaffirmed AICTO’s commitment to a strategic vision aimed at promoting inclusive, secure, and balanced digital development across the Arab world. He called for stronger partnerships and coordinated strategies to build a Smart, Secure, and Sustainable Digital Future.

He also invited all attendees to participate in AIForward Summit, which AICTO will host in Tunis this December, under the theme: “From Information Society to Intelligence Society.” The summit will focus on shaping a future driven by ethical innovation and human-centered design to foster more inclusive, resilient, and advanced digital societies.
