The Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization took part in the activities of GITEX Morocco 2026 with a high-level delegation headed by HE. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Organization.

This participation came in response to a gracious invitation from Her Excellency, the Minister of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform of the Kingdom of Morocco. It also reflects the AICTO’s commitment to strengthening its presence at major regional and international ICT events, while keeping pace with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.

On the sidelines of the event, the delegation held a series of bilateral meetings with regional and international partners. These meetings provided an opportunity to present the Organization’s key programmes and initiatives aimed at supporting the digital economy across Arab countries and enhancing national capacities in advanced technologies.

In the same context, and as part of reinforcing cooperation with “Smart Africa” , AICTO’s delegation participated in an AI capacity-building session held on 5–6 April. The session focused on strengthening institutional capabilities and addressing the fast-evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

On 8 April, the delegation also took part in the Roundtable of Partners of the African Network of Cybersecurity Authorities, where the Organization delivered a brief presentation highlighting its cybersecurity initiatives, along with an overview of key indicators of Arab countries in this field, with particular emphasis on African countries.

These engagements offered a valuable platform for exchanging expertise with regional and African stakeholders, as well as reviewing current trends and priorities, thereby fostering deeper mutual understanding and collaboration at the continental level.

This participation aligns with the AICTO’s strategic vision to advance Arab digital integration and strengthen regional cooperation in ICT, contributing to sustainable development and the establishment of a cohesive and resilient Arab digital economy.
