His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), participated in the Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) Annual Meeting 2025, held in Riyadh on 1–2 October.

Speaking alongside global leaders, HE. Eng. Ben Amor underscored the critical role of regional and international organizations in strengthening global cybersecurity resilience and shaping the ethical adoption of emerging technologies. He stressed the importance of cooperation through platforms like AICTO and the Council of Arab Ministers Responsible for Cybersecurity to harmonize policies, strengthen capacity building, and share best practices, while also highlighting the complementary role of organizations such as the ITU and UNDP. Addressing the dual impact of Artificial Intelligence, he called for ethical governance, training, and collaboration to maximize its benefits while mitigating risks. HE. Eng. Ben Amor also showcased AICTO’s leadership in the Arab region through the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, regional CERTs, knowledge-sharing platforms, and the Arab AI Ethical Charter, reaffirming that regional collaboration is key to strengthening both Arab and global digital resilience.

The Global Cybersecurity Forum Annual Meeting 2025 was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and gathered policymakers, experts, and business leaders from around the world. Centered on the theme “Scaling Cohesive Advancement in Cyberspace”, the forum explored issues such as cyber-economics, digital inclusion, behavioral insights, and the governance of emerging technologies. The meeting also witnessed the launch of a joint Saudi–UN Global Initiative for Capacity Building in Cyberspace, aimed at bridging cybersecurity skills gaps and fostering international cooperation.
