As part of strengthening regional cooperation in digital health and artificial intelligence, and with the aim of unifying efforts to support digital health ecosystems and health AI in Arab countries, the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO)—represented by its Director General, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor—and HealthCare Innovation (HCI) in Monastir—represented by its Director General, Dr. Mohamed Haroun Wanes—signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 16, 2026, in Tunis.
The MoU aims to support Arab countries’ readiness to adopt health AI in a manner that is safe, ethical, and scalable, to develop regional frameworks for digital infrastructure, health data governance, and regulatory compliance, and to empower innovation ecosystems and HealthTech startups, reflecting both parties’ commitment to leveraging digital transformation and AI to strengthen health systems and promote responsible innovation.
