H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organization (AICTO), participated in the Euro-Arab Economic & Banking Summit 2026, held in Paris from 4 to 5 June 2026. The Summit is organized by the Union of Arab Banks in cooperation with the European Banking Federation, the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce, and the French Banking Federation.
In his intervention during a high-level session on Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and the protection of financial infrastructure in the era of digital threats, H.E. Eng. Ben Amor highlighted that AI is profoundly transforming the financial sector by enhancing fraud detection, improving risk management, optimizing financial services, and increasing operational efficiency. He also emphasized its growing role in strengthening preparedness against increasingly sophisticated cyber threats targeting financial systems.
He stressed the importance of adopting Artificial Intelligence in the financial sector within strong governance frameworks based on transparency, accountability, cybersecurity, and ethical standards, in order to mitigate systemic risks and emerging challenges.
H.E. further outlined AICTO’s key priorities in this field, including the development of AI governance and ethical frameworks, strengthening regional cybersecurity cooperation, building digital capacities, and supporting innovation ecosystems across Arab countries.
He also underscored that cyber threats require coordinated regional and international responses beyond borders, making partnerships and knowledge-sharing essential to strengthening trust and resilience in digital financial systems.
In conclusion, H.E. invited participants to attend the AI Forward Summit 2026, organized by AICTO in Hammamet, Tunisia, from 7 to 10 September 2026, which will bring together policymakers, experts, and technology leaders to discuss the future of Artificial Intelligence, digital governance, cybersecurity, and innovation.
