His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), participated in the webinar entitled “Advancing Digital Public Services through Agentic AI”, held on 6 May 2026 and organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) as a side event of the STI Forum 2026.

During his intervention, His Excellency highlighted that the Arab region is currently undergoing a pivotal phase of transformation, with Agentic AI marking a significant shift from conventional digital services toward intelligent government systems capable of operating with a greater degree of autonomy. He noted that this transformation creates promising opportunities to accelerate digital transformation, empower digitally engaged youth, and strengthen regional cooperation, while also presenting growing challenges related to data fragmentation, AI governance, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty.

He concluded his remarks by stressing that the success of this transformation fundamentally depends on placing citizens, trust, and regional integration at the heart of the development of future AI-powered government services, thereby ensuring more effective, sustainable, and responsive solutions that address the evolving needs of societies across the Arab region.
