
The Arab ICT Organization, in partnership with Mercury Communications, successfully concluded the fourth edition of the International Conference on Information Security and Cybersecurity (CAISEC’25) on 25–26 May 2025 at the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski in Cairo. Held under the patronage of H.E. the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the conference brought together over 180 high-level speakers, including government officials, industry leaders, experts, and academics from across the Arab region and beyond.
CAISEC’25 served as a strategic platform to address the region’s most critical cybersecurity challenges and explore the implications of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, on digital security and economic integration.
In his opening address, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab ICT Organization, emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to counter the increasing complexity of cyber threats. He underscored the importance of ethical AI use, the need for a unified Arab cybersecurity framework, and the role of innovation and capacity building in ensuring digital sovereignty and socio-economic stability.
An official awards ceremony, held under the patronage of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and in the presence of H.E. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Egypt, honored outstanding contributions in the following categories:
- Top Performing Arab Countries in Cybersecurity Readiness, based on the ITU GCI2024: Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Egypt, Oman, Jordan, Qatar, and Morocco.
- Best Academic Research in Cybersecurity and AI, awarded to three young researchers from Jordan, Algeria, and Egypt.
The conference concluded with key recommendations and regional initiatives aimed at enhancing Arab digital resilience and fostering collaboration in the face of evolving cyber threats.
