
Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General, of the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO) participated in the Digital Silk Road Development Forum, held on 24 July 2025 in Quanzhou, People’s Republic of China, as part of the World Internet Conference (WIC) – Quanzhou Forum.
On this occasion, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of AICTO, delivered a keynote speech in which he expressed the Arab region’s strong support for building a digital and intelligent Silk Road based on innovation, connectivity, and trust. He emphasized that digital trade today is not merely a driver of economic growth, but a powerful enabler of shared prosperity, resilience, and inclusion particularly in the context of accelerating digital transformation worldwide. His remarks highlighted the importance of advancing regional and international cooperation through the development of smart, sustainable digital infrastructure linking Asia, the Arab world, and Africa; fostering joint innovation ecosystems rooted in artificial intelligence and technology exchange; and establishing digital trust through shared standards in data protection, cybersecurity, and digital identity.
H.E. Eng. Ben Amor reaffirmed AICTO’s commitment to supporting regional digital integration and global collaboration, emphasizing that no region or community should be left behind in the global digital transition. Held under the theme “Embracing the Digital and Intelligent Maritime Silk Road – Jointly Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace,” the Forum served as a high-level platform for promoting open cooperation in digital trade within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
