His Excellency Professor Kais Saied, President of the Republic, received on 2 December 2025 at Carthage Palace His Excellency Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization, His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Her Excellency Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, and His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Salah Ben Issa, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the League of Arab States Office in Tunis.

The meeting took place in the framework of the “AI-Forward Summit 2025”, organized by the Arab ICT Organization on 2–3 December under the theme “From the Information Society to the Intelligence Society”, and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Communication Technologies.

At the outset of the meeting, His Excellency the President expressed his thanks and appreciation for the participation of the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and the Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union in the opening of the AI-Forward Summit 2025. The President underlined that humanity is living through a turning point in its history as a result of the communications revolution: what, only a few years ago, belonged to the realm of science-fiction has now become reality. He stressed the need for all Arab countries to keep pace with the digital transformations that have changed the world, affirming that digitalization is a tool of great importance in many fields, not least in combating corruption.

The President also noted that these transformations have many positive effects and advantages, but that every advantage has its counterpoints, which must be anticipated and carefully monitored. Humanity is in the process of remaking itself, he observed, but values must not be lost, truths must not be distorted, and modern means of communication must not be diverted towards intellectual alienation or used as instruments of deception and defamation.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Mr. Sofien Hemissi, Minister of Communication Technologies.
