On the sidelines of the MWC25 Doha Exhibition, H.E. Eng. Ahmed Abdullah Al Maslamani, Chairman of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the State of Qatar, received on 26 November 2025 at the State of Qatar Pavilion H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization (AICTO). The meeting reviewed ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of communications and information technology and to support digital transformation efforts in the region.
During the meeting, H.E. the TRA Chairman reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s continued support for AICTO and expressed pride in the strategic partnership between the two sides.. For his part, H.E. the Director General expressed his thanks for the warm welcome and praised the distinguished organization of MWC25 Doha. He also provided a brief overview of AICTO’s most recent activities, including the AI Forward Summit, in addition to Qatar’s proposal to host AICTO’s meetings of the Executive Council and the General Assembly, and to organize a specialized IPv6 conference in parallel with the Organization’s legislative meetings.
The meeting further underscored AICTO’s keenness to support the international events that will be hosted by the State of Qatar in the communications and information technology sector—particularly Doha’s hosting of the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference next year—thereby reinforcing Qatar’s position as a leading platform for digital initiatives at both the regional and international levels.
