H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, Director General of the Arab Information and Communication Technologies Organization (AICTO), received H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Furaih, Secretary-General of the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the Organization’s headquarters in La Marsa, Tunisia.

The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two organizations in the field of cybersecurity. Discussions also covered the latest developments and challenges facing Arab countries in this domain, as well as mechanisms for coordinating joint efforts and exchanging expertise to enhance cybersecurity and strengthen digital trust at both the Arab and regional levels.

During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on the Council of Arab Cybersecurity Ministers, highlighting its organizational structure, mandate, the key pillars of the updated Arab Cybersecurity Strategy, as well as its major activities and initiatives since its establishment.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Furaih expressed his appreciation for AICTO’s efforts in advancing cybersecurity across the Arab region. He particularly commended the Organization’s leading role in developing the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy and emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen the security of the Arab cyberspace and address the growing cyber challenges and threats.

For his part, H.E. Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor proposed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties to establish an institutional framework for cooperation and to launch the implementation of the Arab Cybersecurity Strategy and its related initiatives. Such cooperation would contribute to strengthening capacity-building efforts and advancing Arab integration in the field of cybersecurity.

H.E. the Director General also invited H.E. Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Furaih to participate in the second edition of the AI-Forward Summit 2026, scheduled to take place from 7 to 10 September 2026 in Hammamet, Republic of Tunisia.
