Scope :

AICTO working groups (WG) will be operating witin :

• The Arab Strategy for ICTs - building the Information Society until 2012 adopted during the Arab Summit in its 20th ordinary session (Damascus, 29-30 March 2008),
• The WSIS recommendations (Geneva, 2003 - Tunis 2005)

Tasks :

Leading research and studies related to the achievement of pilot projects with regards to the priorities adopted by AICTO Council and General Assembly.

Members :

WGs include representatives from Member States (Public sector), and Sector Members (Private sector).

For 2008, the following projects have been adopted :

• "Information Society Indicators in the Arab World"
• "Mobile TV project"
• "Arab PKI Forum"
• "International Roaming between Arab Countries"

Future pojects will be dealing with :

• E-content
• Develpment and promotion of scientific research
• Building capacity and E-education
• Cybersecurity
