Cooperation between AICTO and the UAB
On the occasion of the launch of the SITIC Africa’2017 works, a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Arab ICT Organization (AICTO), represented by its Secretary-General, HE/Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, and the Union of Arab Banks (UAB), its Secretary-general, Mr. Wissam Fattouh, who was represented by HE/Dr. Hedi Chaib Ainou, Member of the Board, during the official opening of the international forum “Towards the new Digital Financial Solutions’ ensured by HE/Mr. Anouar Maârouf, Minister of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy in Tunisia.
This cooperation falls within the valorization of the Arab common action, and the coordination of efforts considering the major role played by ICT in fostering the economic development process, upgrading the financial and banking sectors performance throughout the Arab region to cope with the latest technological developments globally, while enabling the adequate environment for e-commerce development between Arab countries as well as worldwide. Besides, adequate measures will be taken to protect Arab information systems and keep abreast with the latest developments in matter of computer security and electronic trust.
Both parties have agreed under this agreement to achieve common activities falling within their respective specialties, namely achieving studies, organizing training sessions, as well as an annual joint regional forum related to digital financial services during which a prize on ‘the best digital financial services’ will be awarded to the best Arab banking companies.
