AICTO SG participates at the International Conference for the “Criminalization of Cyberterrorism”
HE/Eng. Mohamed Ben Amor, AICTO’s Secretary General participated at the International Conference for the Criminalization of Cyberterrorism held at Abu Dhabi, UAE on 15th and 16th May 2017.
Regional and international experts, researchers and practitioners took part and participated to this conference besides high level representatives of many specialized regional and international organizations and the civil society.
The conference aimed at criminalizing the cyberterrorism with the focus on the setting up of a global framework reconciling between human rights and freedom of expression from one hand and the efforts made to tackle and counter cyberterrorism from another hand.
Many topics has been discussed as :
- Electronic Terrorism in the context of conflicting legislation and cultural and social decline
- Reconciliation of human rights principles with efforts to combat electronic terrorism
- Prospects for joint action among the institutions concerned with the fight against electronic terrorism
- Towards a comprehensive legislative framework to criminalize electronic terrorism
The conference has been closed with the “AbuDhabi Declaration to criminalize cyber terrorism“. [Arabic]
